Il nuovo ciclo “Otium” tratterà il tema dell’ozio come lo intendevano gli antichi romani, cioè un otium creativo, momento di studio, arricchimento personale e spirituale, che si contrapponeva al negozio, cioè alle attività connesse al lavoro e al guadagno materiale.
È il terzo ciclo di opere che appartiene al progetto pittorico “24 ore di un essere umano” iniziato nel 2010, e suddiviso in tre periodi: “Sleep” il riposo, “Work” il lavoro, “Otium” il tempo libero.
I dipinti sono stati eseguiti utilizzando pigmenti crudi impastati con olio di lino chiarificato al sole, su tele di lino o di canapa preparate direttamente dall’artista.
The new cycle “Otium” will deal with the theme of leisure as the ancient Romans understood it, that is, a creative otium, a moment of study, personal and spiritual enrichment, which contrasted with the shop, that is, activities related to work and material gain.
It is the third cycle of works that belongs to the pictorial project “24 hours of a human being” started in 2010, and divided into three periods: “Sleep” rest, “Work” work, “Otium” free time.
The paintings were made using raw pigments mixed with linseed oil clarified in the sun, on linen or hemp canvases prepared directly by the artist.

Il ciclo “Work” è composto da 24 opere pittoriche ispirate al mondo del lavoro umano nelle sue accezioni più strane e spesso negative; dal lavoro minorile, allo sfruttamento delle donne.
È il secondo ciclo di opere che appartiene al progetto pittorico “24 ore di un essere umano” iniziato nel 2010, e suddiviso in tre periodi: “Sleep” il riposo, “Work” il lavoro, “Otium” il tempo libero.

Il ciclo “Sleep” è composto da 24 dipinti che si ispirano all’essere umano nell’atto del dormire.
Anche per questo ciclo i lavori sono stati eseguiti utilizzando pigmenti crudi impastati con olio di lino chiarificato al sole, su tele di lino e canapa preparate direttamente dall’artista.

La serie “Now” è composta da 11 dipinti di varie dimensioni, realizzati su differenti tipi di supporti.
I temi rappresentati variano dalla religione, alla storia, alla politica. Le opere sono state eseguite dipingendo dal vero scene e modelli costruiti con stracci e giornali e materiali di scarto.
Anche in questo caso l’artista ha utilizzato pigmenti crudi impastati con olio di lino chiarificato al sole.
Il ciclo è stato oggetto della personale “Now”, tenutasi nel 2010 nella chiesa di San Giovanni Battista a Penne, Italia.
The “Now” series consists of 11 paintings of various sizes, made on different types of supports.
The themes represented vary from religion, to history, to politics. The works were performed by painting from life scenes and models built with rags and newspapers and waste materials.
Again, the artist used raw pigments mixed with sun-clarified linseed oil.
The cycle was the subject of the personal “Now”, held in 2010 in the church of San Giovanni Battista in Penne, Italy.
